Hardwood Flooring Options

Timeless. Durable. Designed for Real Life.

We proudly offer both solid hardwood and engineered hardwood. Solid hardwood is milled from a single piece of wood and typically comes in ¾-inch thickness, offering long-term durability and the ability to be refinished multiple times. Engineered hardwood consists of a real wood top layer bonded to a stable core — perfect for installation over concrete, radiant heat, or in homes with shifting humidity. Engineered planks range from ⅜ inch to ⅝ inch in thickness and offer excellent stability without sacrificing the look of authentic wood. Both options come in a variety of finishes, species, and price points to suit different spaces.

When choosing hardwood, it’s important to consider plank width, thickness, and layout. Standard plank widths range from 2¼” traditional strips to wide planks over 7 inches, each creating a different visual effect. Narrow planks lend a classic, uniform feel, while wide planks create a more open, modern look. You can choose from smooth finishes, wire-brushed textures, or hand-scraped surfaces for added dimension. Layout styles can be customized to your home — whether it’s straight lay for a clean, timeless aesthetic, herringbone or chevron for visual interest, or diagonal installs to elongate a room. Our consultants help you explore all layout possibilities and visualize how they’ll appear in your space.

We also guide you in choosing between prefinished and site-finished hardwood. Prefinished floors come ready from the manufacturer, with stain and sealant already applied, allowing for faster, cleaner installation and a durable factory finish. Site-finished hardwood is installed raw, then sanded, stained, and sealed on-site — giving you full control over the exact color and finish. No matter which route you take, Right Step Flooring ensures every project is installed with precision and care.

Diverse Options for Hardwood Floor

Minimal scratches are inevitable. However, there’s a way to “hide” that and make your hardwood floor seem new and blemish-free through the style you intend to purchase.

Hardwood flooring with a high degree of graining is suitable to cover possible scratches and dents produced by your pets or kids at home. For camouflaging, we use red oak species and hickory. We even offer a wider color variation with wood floors made from the latter. Right Step Flooring also offers light-colored hardwood floor choices that are good in concealing scratches and scrapes. This set of selection is composed of modern-styled natural and airy shades of wood that are fit for every home, even with kids around.

For light woods, we use the following wood species: maple, oak, bamboo, and pine. On the other hand, we use cherry, walnut, mahogany, and hickory for dark tones.

Right Step Flooring takes pride in our source of high-quality wood. All of our materials and products are produced domestically, giving life to the local business in our area. If you are one of those people who support and go for local products, this is the right place for you to inquire. But if you want exotic ones, we also have mahogany, bamboo, and Brazilian Cherry, and Walnut, among others.

Regardless of the type you select, Right Step Flooring guarantees that only the best quality will be delivered to you.
